If you are a Charleston native or resident, you hopefully recognize the Tecklenburg name. Joseph Tecklenburg is the son of our very own Mayor John Tecklenburg and now our very first Charleston Groom!
Charleston to Jacksonville
“We really wantedto bring atouch of Charleston to Jacksonville and tried to include some details specific to Charleston at the reception” writes Joseph. The couple used a book called, My City Charleston, by photographer Jack Alterman for their guests to leave messages of love and well wishes. The bridesmaids were gifted with traditional rice bead necklaces, and the groomsmen wore custom cuff links adorned with an image of the peninsula, pineapple socks (a symbol of hospitality and the city of Charleston), and custom pocket squares made right here in Charleston! A sweet grass basket was also used to collect wedding cards for the couple.
'Wow, that band was awesome!'
Not only was Charleston a visual fixture for this reception, but was carried into the entertainment as well. If you have ever been to an event or wedding here, you know we LOVE to dance the night away to a live band, and this wedding was no exception. Joseph says, “The most common sentiment from that night – apart from how beautiful the bride looked - was, ‘Wow, that band was awesome!’” The couple chose a 10-piece band complete with horns, saxophone, guitars, piano, drums, and more, to really get the party going! The bride, groom, and guests of all ages were able to join in and really enjoy a fun evening, and the groom had some final words about how he felt about his wedding, “It rocked!”
